usable

for the past two years I have been a part of bring back to life and old building that had been vacant for many, many years...I remember driving by it every day as I went to the church and thinking, "What's wrong with that place?"..."No one seems to want to use it"...so...we as a church decided to ask the owner if we could use it...long story short...the owner decide to give us the building...no heat...there were furnaces, but they didn't work...electrical wiring was from the 30's when the building was built...I finally realized why no one wanted to use it...it wasn't usable...not until alot of work went into it...and most people just didn't think it was worth it...ok...back to the renovating part...for the past two years we as a church have upgraded everything...heating and cooling...electrical...flooring...paint...all things to make it usable...remember...not usable...renovate...usable...as I was working on the building yesterday...it struck me...that's what God did to me...nothing in me worked before the saving grace of Jesus took place in my life...my heat didn't work...I was cold hearted...my electrical didn't work...no energy to do what was right...on and on I could go...but I think you get what I am trying to say...many people are wondering why I am so passionate about this place...the reason is...it reminds me a lot of me...and God is pretty passionate about renovating me...OH, by the way...the building is being used to change lives...sharing the good news that Jesus can take any old delapadated thing and make it usable...relax God is in control!
