leading

in a book I read a long time ago, the writer said that we all have a circle of influence...meaning that each one of us directly influences someone every single day of our lives...no man is an island...this thought of influence also hit me as I watched for the fourth or fifth time...the movie "The Five People You Meet in Heaven"...our words and actions don't just effect us but they effect those we come in contact with every single day...directly and indirectly...our children...our co-workers...our spouses...those we run into in the community...at the gas station...the grocery store...your favorite restaraunt...now the ramifications of this is huge...you say to yourself...but I can't live their lives for them...what I do and say can't mean that much can it?...well...as I was reading in Daniel the other day I came across an awesome and encouraging scripture...not only is there an amazing prayer of Daniels in chapter nine...in chapter twelve Daniel is being given a vision of the future...actually the end of time as we know it...it is speaking of all those whose names are written in the book...this is what it says...verse two "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to evrlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt...here is where it gets exciting to read...those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever"...now back to influence and the importance of it...what I do and say this day will lead or turn people towards Christ or away from Him...I know that may not seem fair...but if you think about it...how amazing, God using such weak vessels to display Him...hasn't changed since He came to Moses to speak to Pharoah and the Israelites...can you imagine?...shining like the stars forever and ever...sweeeeeet!...relax God is in control!
